Cafe Noir
By Carolina Sorn
Silver has always known she was different. She’s about to find out why.
Silver: Cafe Noir is a YA novel in the classical style, taking a female protagonist on a coming-of-age adventure that helps her establish the truth of her identity. A young teenage girl, half American and living in a place where she never felt that she fit in, Silver has a secret double life. But, when the walls that separate the two worlds come crashing down around her, she is going to have to face a reality that’s more strange and twisted than she never imagined.
“Silver shook her head at her. She said with a sigh, “You’ll never get it. I don’t know why I bother trying to explain it to you.”
“I don’t want it,” she grumbled assuredly. “You’ve been weird ever since you got that stupid job. What kind of an office is it you work in anyway?”
“It’s just an office,” Silver told her. “It’s nothing special.”
“Something about you changed since you got that job. You seem different somehow!””
